Carbon Footprint

A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly or indirectly by a person, organization, activity or product.

Product carbon footprint refers to the various GHG emissions of a product (or service) during its life cycle, that is, the direct and indirect GHG emissions from all stages including raw material acquisition, manufacturing (or service process), transportation, sales, use and disposal/recycling. Its scope includes greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrogen oxides (N2O).

Greenhouse gas inventory refers to the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly from various links of social and production activities by governments, enterprises and other organizations.

It mainly refers to the third-party verification agency reviewing the emission monitoring plans submitted by key emission enterprises (or other economic organizations) and verifying the annual greenhouse gas emission reports and supplementary data sheets in accordance with the "Greenhouse Gas Emission Accounting Methods and Reporting Guidelines" and related standards and requirements.

Greenhouse gas verification is an important means to ensure that the emission data reported by enterprises are objective, true and accurate, and is also the cornerstone for the effective operation of the entire carbon trading market.

On July 16, the national carbon emission trading market (abbreviated as carbon market) was launched.
