Liz Claiborne Factory Audit Document Checklist

Liz Claiborne, Inc. and its subsidiaries are committed to producing high-quality products at a good value for our consumers. The Company follows the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and maintains high standards of business ethics and respect for human rights. In addition, we require good business ethicsfrom suppliers. Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws of the country, including laws relating to employment, discrimination, the environment, safety apparel and related areas. Suppliersmust comply with all applicable U.S. laws regarding imported products, including country of origin labeling, product labeling and fabric and product testing. If local or industry practices exceedlocal legal requirements, high standards apply.

Forced Labor: Forced labor shall not be used, whether in the form of prison labor, indentured labor, forced labor or otherwise.

Child Labor: No person shall be employed under the age of 15 or younger than the age of completion of compulsory education in a country where such age is higher than 15.

Harassment or Abuse: Every employee shall be treated with respect and dignity. No employee shall be subjected to any physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.

Nondiscrimination: No person shall be subject to any discrimination in employment, including hiring, wages, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement, based on sex, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, political views, or social or ethnic origin.

Health and Safety: Employers must provide a safe and healthy working environment and prevent accidents and injuries to health arising out of, related to or as a result of operations occurring in the course of work at employers’ facilities.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: Employers must recognize and respect employees’ freedom of association and collective bargaining.

Wages and Benefits: Employers recognize that wages must meet the basic needs of employees. Employers should pay employees, such as the floor, at least the minimum wage as per local law or the industry wage, whichever is higher, and should provide legally authorized benefits.

Working hours: Except in extraordinary business circumstances, employees should not be required to work more than 60 hours per week or limit regular and overtime hours as permitted by law in the country of production. Except in special circumstances, employees are entitled to at least one day off every seven days.

Overtime Compensation: In addition to remuneration for normal working hours, employees shall be compensated for overtime work in accordance with the law in the country of production, or where such law does not exist, at a rate at least equal to their regular hourly wage.
