Organic Content Standard Certification The purpose of OCS certification is to ensure trust in organic content claims. To achieve this goal, OCS certification will verify the presence and content of organic raw materials in the final product. Through certification, OCS provides a strong chain of custody system from organic raw materials to final products. Considering the transparency, consistency and independent integrity of the standards, the evaluation and verification of the content of organic raw materials in the product will be performed by a trusted third-party certification company (CertificationBody, CB). OCS serves as a tool between businesses to ensure that the products purchased by the company do contain organic raw materials. This standard does not include the certification of raw materials, which are verified by separate production process certification. This standard also does not involve the input of other raw materials (such as chemicals), the impact of production on the environment (such as energy or water use), social responsibility, safety responsibility and legal commitments. Potential customers of the Organic Content Standard Certification Standard are processors, manufacturers, brands and retailers, traders, certification bodies and other organizations supporting organic activities. This standard is a voluntary standard and is not intended to replace the relevant laws and regulations of any country. Each customer participating in this standard is responsible for complying with all relevant laws and regulations, including marketing, labor and business practices. When local laws and regulations conflict with OCS requirements, the certification body should contact TE in a timely manner to seek the most practical solution. When there are questions about the interpretation of the standard, the first person to contact is the certification body, and if further explanation is required, the certification body will contact TE. TextileExchange was founded in 2003 as a national, member-supported non-profit organization of OrganicExchange. The mission of TextileExchange is to encourage and promote sustainable use in the textile value chain. The requirements of OCS and CCS Content Claim Standard (CCS) are embedded in the OCS standard as a chain of custody aspect. Clear requirements for organic inputs form the rest of the OCS standard. The CCS standard is a chain of custody standard that applies to a range of supply chain requirements, including the Organic Content Standard (OCS), Recycled Content Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS). Because of the commonality of these standards, we are committed to making the certification process consistent and effective. Do you have any questions about OCS certification?
