Coca-Cola launches "Expo City Star" selection in China

Taking advantage of the opportunity of participating in the "Global Hour" event advocated by the World Wildlife Fund, the international beverage giant Coca-Cola announced in Shanghai on the 27th that it would join hands with its strategic partner RT-Mart Group to officially launch the "Expo City Star" selection.

As the only global partner in the non-alcoholic beverage sector of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Coca-Cola said that this event aims to encourage Chinese people to participate in building a more sustainable future by changing the little things around them in their respective communities.

It is reported that Coca-Cola and RT-Mart will select 12 winners from consumers who submit innovative ideas for "low-carbon life" as "Expo City Stars" and invite them to participate in the "Celebrate the Expo, Enjoy Low-Carbon Life" event held in the Coca-Cola Pavilion of the World Expo in the summer as special guests to share their wonderful low-carbon life experiences with more people. More than 120 supermarkets under RT-Mart will participate.

"Coca-Cola's global slogan 'Positive Optimism, Better Life' emphasizes our commitment to sustainable development, which coincides with the theme of this World Expo, 'Better City, Better Life'." Fu Bowei, Executive Officer of Customer and Business Leadership for Coca-Cola Greater China, said that he hopes that through the "Expo City Star" selection activity, the younger generation of China will be attracted and motivated to actively participate in the promotion of sustainable development.

Since becoming the first independent American global partner of the Shanghai World Expo in December 2007, Coca-Cola has expressed its support and blessings for the Expo in various ways, including producing "Haibao" commemorative bottles, announcing the establishment of the World Expo Coca-Cola Corporate Pavilion, and releasing the "Coca-Cola-World Expo combination logo" to the world. This year, three Coca-Cola ambassadors also joined hands with "Haibao" to embark on a happy global journey, visiting 206 countries along the way to promote the Shanghai World Expo. (End)
