FSC forest certification site information

FSC forest certification has become the standard for the wood products industry to export to the EU market. The FSC forest certification certificate is valid for five years. The following is the relevant information that FSC certification auditors usually need to review on site:

Materials must be segregated at all stages in the production system.

Round logs, batches of timber, timber piles, etc. must have a unique identification (number) to trace the source of the material.

Traceability must be maintained throughout the process of material procurement, processing and final product shipment.

Documented procedures and work instructions that record the production processes involving the use of approved wood.

Maintain accurate production records for each batch of approved material.

Products produced with approved materials must be clearly marked and segregated from products produced with non-approved materials.

Document procedures for handling, storage, packaging and shipping.

Licensed materials and unlicensed materials are stored separately.

Packaging and labeling certifies products to determine the status of the material's origin.

Marking of licensed products in accordance with certification management regulations.

Specify the duties of personnel.

Provide adequate job training to personnel.

Document and make employees understand the procedures and work instructions for key activities.

Record and maintain adequate records of major activities and production processes.

Document the procedures for material procurement and supplier selection.
