What is CBP?

The U.S. Customs is divided into two parts, namely the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The establishment of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) made it possible for the first time in U.S. history for one agency to manage people and goods entering U.S. ports.

What are the main responsibilities of CBP?

1. CBP’s primary mission is to prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States. To this end, CBP will focus on strengthening the security of the U.S. border and ports, and expand the U.S. security zone beyond the U.S. geographic border, thereby turning the U.S. border from the first line of defense into the last line of defense.

2. CBP's main responsibilities include: arresting illegal immigrants and seizing drugs and other contraband, protecting agricultural and economic interests from harmful animals and plants and diseases, protecting U.S. businesses from intellectual property infringement, regulating and facilitating international trade, collecting import tariffs, and enforcing U.S. trade laws.

This is the end of this issue's introduction to CBP. If you want to get more information about CBP, please continue to pay attention!
