2014 BSCI Annual Conference

2014 BSCI Annual Conference

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) will hold its annual conference in Brussels, Belgium from November 12 to 13, with the theme of "Sowing the seeds of a global sustainable supply chain". Over the past decade, companies have been committed to addressing sustainable supply chain issues. This year's BSCI conference will bring together participants and stakeholders in the supply chain to establish partnerships and improve working conditions in factories and farms around the world.
BSCI is honored to have a distinguished group of speakers, especially Mr. John Ruggie, former UN Special Representative on Business and Human Rights, as the keynote speaker for the conference. He will share with participants his extensive experience on how to manage business and human rights challenges through the “Protect, Respect and Remedy” framework.

November 12, 2014: Strengthening the foundation beyond the field of responsibility (only for BSCI participants, i.e. FTA member companies).
BSCI sincerely invites its participating companies to gather together on the afternoon of November 12 to discuss the BSCI 2014 / 2015 annual activity plan and focus on the implementation of the new BSCI Code of Conduct. BSCI participants can also participate in other thematic group discussions to discuss necessary topics including new audit methods, implementation of supply chain risk assessment, and planning of effective improvement measures.

November 13, 2014: Planting the seeds for a sustainable global supply chain.
The conference on November 13, 2014 will bring together BSCI participants and third-party stakeholders to share knowledge and experience on the challenges currently facing international supply chains. We invite thought leaders to share their insights on the latest trends in sustainable business. In addition, participants can also explore specific challenges in global supply chains in breakout sessions, such as the operation of grievance mechanisms, best practices for effective collaboration, how to implement fair wages, as well as addressing child labor, protecting young workers and how to identify corruption risks.
