Where does Shopify's traffic come from? How to get traffic?

Shopify newbies, look here. Today I will introduce Shopify traffic to you. As a Shopify seller, Shopify traffic determines the number of orders in Shopify. So how do we get Shopify traffic?

Where does Shopify traffic come from?

There are three essential differences between Shopify and 2C e-commerce platforms with regular traffic.

First, the flexibility and ownership of traffic acquisition. On 2C platforms, no matter how much advertising fees you spend or how much off-site promotion you do, the traffic you get belongs to the platform. It can be understood as a one-time transaction (except for returning customers). The ranking, weight, who can sell and who can't sell, how to sell, and who to sell with are all decided by the platform.

But the e-commerce website created through Shopify is different. All the traffic you get can be deposited on your own website and you can use it at will.

Second, customer experience controllability and ownership. Amazon and other e-commerce platforms have strict requirements and restrictions on how to display brands, products and stores, but on Shopify, you can freely decide how to best display your brand and products, and control the shopping process yourself, including the data of the entire browsing conversion process.

Third, the ownership of the customer belongs to you. The traffic of the 2C platform belongs to the platform, and after being converted into customers, the customers also belong to the platform. It has nothing to do with the sellers on the platform. It just tells you that the goods are going to be shipped in the form of an order, and it is difficult to generate interaction.

This greatly affects demand analysis and customer retention, but Shopify can effectively skip and jump out of the platform to attract customers to repurchase and has better data to support customer demand analysis.

Of course, the 2C platform and Shopify building your own website are fundamentally different, but their direction is to help you expand channels. The two are not mutually exclusive. As long as they are suitable, many big sellers will even combine the two, and the conversion and repurchase rates are very good.

How to get Shopify traffic?

First of all, do a good job in the refined operation of Shopify traffic. Just like foreign online traffic, the diversified culture leads to different needs of various audiences. Analyze the needs of your potential customers and what type of content they like to watch. There is no need to push hard advertising on traffic platforms such as Google. Some small platforms or communities often have unexpected results.

Secondly, Shopify’s precise positioning is more hardcore. Compared with the traditional traffic thinking, doing Shopify means that the traffic you can reach is spread all over the online and offline places.

There are many sources of traffic, including Facebook, Google, influencer marketing, SEO, video marketing, etc., but the applicable and efficient ones require joint efforts.
