eBay Sellers’ Guide to Ending Your Listing Early

eBay Sellers’ Guide to Ending Your Listing Early

During the eBay sales process, you may not be able to end the listing on time due to unexpected circumstances. If necessary, sellers can choose to end the listing before the scheduled end date. Please note that if you end a listing early, it may disappoint potential buyers and affect their shopping experience, so eBay strongly recommends that sellers do not do this. Of course, you may also encounter unexpected circumstances and have to end the listing early (for example: the inventory is damaged or lost, or the item information you entered when listing is incorrect, etc.), in which case please follow the steps in this article to correctly end the listing early.

If you decide to end a GTC listing, we will not refund the item insertion fee, but you will not be charged for another 30-day listing period.

If you need to end an auction listing early, the following conditions must be met:

There are no buyers bidding on this auction listing yet

This auction listing has already been bid by a buyer. You are willing to sell to the current highest bidder.

This auction has already been bid by a buyer, and you do not want to sell to the current highest bidder. At the same time, there are more than 12 hours left before this auction ends. At this time, you must first cancel all bids in this auction, and then end the listing. eBay will charge the corresponding early termination fee.

You cannot end an auction listing early in the following situations:

This auction listing already has bids, and you do not wish to sell to the current highest bidder, and the listing has less than 12 hours left to end.

This auction listing has already received bids, but the bids have not reached the reserve price you set, and there are less than 12 hours left before the listing ends.

Tip: Ending a listing early may disappoint buyers and reduce their purchasing experience. Therefore, if you frequently end listings early or abuse this function, eBay will investigate and may penalize your account. Therefore, if possible, try to modify the listing information to correct the error information in the listing instead of simply ending the listing.

Steps to end your listing early:

1. Taking the US site as an example, first log in to your account;

2. Enter Seller HUB;

In the [Active] of the [listing] module, find the corresponding listing and click the [end item] option in the [Action] drop-down menu.
