What dynamic content is prohibited on eBay?

Dynamic Policy

Dynamic content such as JavaScript, Flash, plugins, and form manipulation is no longer allowed in listings. If you include dynamic content in your listing, it will not display properly, which will affect the browsing experience for buyers. Certain forms of dynamic content that can be used for malicious purposes are still not allowed in listings or other eBay pages. You also may not use JavaScript to manipulate the standard functionality of eBay listings, eBay store pages, or your profile pages. To learn more about what eBay allows and does not allow, please review the following rules.

JavaScript that meets the following descriptions is prohibited: Automatically calling remote program code and pages

Change registry keys or write data to another person's computer hard drive.

Creates automatic pop-ups, except for links that open in a new window when clicked.

Used to place or read cookies on any eBay page.

Automatically load any binary program on someone else's computer.

When the listing is opened, start playing a song or video.

Covers any part of the listing other than the item description.

Manipulate any content other than the listing description, including changing the font, color, and background of the eBay title and footer.

Automatically transmit the program code to the eBay website.

Sellers need to pay attention to the following points:

1. If you try to use a disabled code, you will receive a "Prohibited JavaScript/HTML Syntax" error message. This means that you cannot list items, or the code will be disabled at runtime. If the system displays other error messages, it means that the problem is not related to disabling HTML or JavaScript code.

2. Attempting to use JavaScript to hide the original intent or function of the source code of the listed item is a violation of eBay policy. Sellers may not manipulate or edit any part outside the member content area.

3. Please make sure that your listings comply with regulations, as listings that do not comply with regulations will be removed and your account will be subject to usage restrictions, including limited buying and selling rights and account freezing.
