What is ISCC International Sustainability and Carbon Certification?

The term "sustainable development" appears more and more in our lives. So what is its goal? That is to meet all kinds of human needs while protecting resources and the ecological environment. As people pay more and more attention to environmental protection and energy conservation and emission reduction, ISCC certification business has also developed rapidly in China. According to the European Renewable Energy Directive (2009/28/EC) (RED), biofuels or bioenergy used as biomass must be produced sustainably from 2011. As one of the first international certification systems recognized by the European Commission, what is the close relationship between ISCC and us?

What is ISCC certification

ISCC certification, the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC certification), is the first international certification system for various biomass and bioenergy that can prove sustainability and greenhouse gas savings. It is developed by an open multi-stakeholder process, whose members include research institutions and non-governmental organizations. Its goal is to achieve environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production and use of various biomass in the global supply chain.

The two most important core points of ISCC are traceability and sustainability.

What does ISCC certification cover?

The ISCC certification system covers all sustainable raw materials used in various markets such as the bioenergy sector, food and feed market, and chemical market, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biowaste and residues, circular materials and renewable energy, and is suitable for various markets.

ISCC's sustainability principles

ISCC is strongly committed to protecting forests, high carbon stock lands and biodiversity, and promoting the production of biomass and other raw materials in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable manner.

Ecological sustainability

// Protecting land with high biodiversity value or high carbon stocks

// Deforestation-free supply chain

// Environmentally responsible production to protect soil, water and air

Social Sustainability

// Safe working conditions

// Respect for human, labor and land rights

Comply with laws and international treaties

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Detection
