WAL-MART factory inspection rectification report issues

Question 1: According to factory regulations, the factory does not have any welfare system for paternity leave, sick leave, and work-related injury leave.
Improvement measures: The factory's welfare system for paternity leave, sick leave and work-related injury leave has been included in the factory's relevant system. For details, please refer to the "Employee Handbook":
For female employees who give birth and receive the "One-Child Special Certificate", the maternity leave will be increased by 35 days, and the male partner will be given 10 days of nursing leave.
In the case of multiple births, the maternity leave will be extended by 15 days for each additional birth. If an employee is sick or stops work for treatment due to non-work-related injuries, the factory will pay sick leave wages at no less than 80% of the minimum wage for maternity leave, sick leave and work-related injury leave issued by a regular medical institution. If an employee suffers an accident injury at work or needs to stop work for work-related injury medical treatment due to an occupational disease, the original salary and benefits will remain unchanged during the period of suspension with pay, and the factory will pay monthly.


Question 2: According to the work cards and QC inspection daily reports for January and February, there are inconsistencies in the work time records of three workers. For example, workers Zhou Fengyan (Zou Fengyan), Weng Haiqin, and Peng Weichun went to work on January 28, 2007, but their work cards did not record it. Another worker Zhou Fengyan (Zou Fengyan)

Improvement measures: According to the factory system, Sunday is a unified holiday and the factory does not need to work overtime. However, due to the rush to ship orders, three employees (Zou Fengyan, Weng Haiqin, and Peng Weichun) were selected to work overtime on Sunday to test the machines. The three of them signed an application for overtime, and the factory has paid them double the salary (8.04 yuan/hour). For details, see the salary payment records for January and February.


Question 3: According to the work card information in October, 4/5 of the sampled workers worked overtime for more than 36 hours per month. For example, Song Yan worked overtime for 40 hours in October, with a maximum of 48 hours per week and 8 hours per day.
Improvement measures: The factory has followed the provisions of the Labor Law to work 8 hours a day, has hired more staff to expand production capacity, and has controlled overtime work within 36 hours per month.

Question 4: According to the factory regulations, there are unreasonable clauses such as: the factory does not recruit workers under the age of 18.
Improvement measures: The factory has updated its "Factory Rules and Regulations". Any person aged 16 or above who holds an ID card, education certificate, health certificate and other relevant certificates can be hired. The factory will register the employment of 16-18 year olds with the Labor Bureau and obtain a work permit, and conduct regular physical examinations for them.


Question 5: There are 2 fire extinguishers in the warehouse placed at a height of more than 1.5 meters.
Improvement measures: The factory has made improvements, placed the fire extinguishers at the required height for fire protection, and conducted a comprehensive inspection of other fire-fighting equipment throughout the factory.


Question 6: One employee’s work certificate for a special job has expired.
Improvement measures: The factory has conducted a comprehensive inspection of work permits for special types of work, and has conducted annual inspections or replacements for certificates that require annual inspection or replacement in accordance with relevant regulations.


Question 7: Some soldering workers did not wear masks.
Improvement measures: The factory has now equipped all positions involving chemical products with labor protection supplies (such as masks, gloves, etc.).


Question 8: The warehouse and the dormitory are not separated, and the warehouse is located on the first floor of the dormitory.
Improvement measures: The factory has built an independent warehouse for the warehouse on the first floor of the dormitory and plans to relocate it.


Question 9: There is another factory called Yimingda located on the first floor of Building B. The factory has provided a lease agreement. It is not included in the scope of this audit.
Improvement measures: The first floor of our factory was rented to Yi Mingda in August 2006 at the request of the village committee, with relevant legal procedures in place.
