FDA – U.S. Food and Drug Administration

FDA – U.S. Food and Drug Administration

FDA is the abbreviation of Food and Drug Administration. FDA sometimes also stands for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. FDA is authorized by the U.S. Congress, the federal government, and is the highest law enforcement agency specializing in food and drug management. It is also a government health control monitoring agency composed of professionals such as doctors, lawyers, microbiologists, chemists and statisticians who are committed to protecting, promoting and improving national health. Many other countries promote and monitor the safety of their own products by seeking and receiving help from the FDA.

FDA's significance:

The U.S. FDA is affiliated with the Public Health Service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is responsible for the management of all food, drugs, cosmetics and radioactive equipment in the United States. It is also the earliest consumer protection agency in the United States. The FDA not only collects and processes 80,000 samples of products manufactured or imported in the United States and conducts inspections, but also sends thousands of inspectors to 15,000 factories overseas every year to confirm whether their various activities comply with U.S. laws.

Since 1990, the US FDA has worked closely with international organizations such as ISO to continuously promote a series of innovative measures. Especially in the field of food and medicine, FDA certification has become the highest testing standard for food and medicine in the world. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as the highest food safety standard. Only products that have been tested at 143 key testing points after human use and monitored for 20,000 to 30,000 people for 3 to 7 years will be issued FDA certification.

Therefore, many international manufacturers pursue FDA certification as the highest honor and guarantee of product quality.

FDA Fees:

If you are looking for a domestic certification company to help you complete the FDA certification, the general cost is composed of service fees + FDA annual fees. Taking the first-class registration as an example, the FDA annual fee is about 5236 US dollars (payable to the FDA designated account). As for the service fee, each company will charge different fees. You can ask several companies for comparison.
