What is Trello? What are the features of Trello?

Trello is an easy, free, flexible, visual way to manage your projects and organize things, trusted by millions of people around the world. Trello boards, lists, and cards allow you to organize and prioritize your projects in a fun, flexible, and rewarding way.

What features does Trello have?

track

The most common way to use Trello is to track tasks within a project or process. Projects tend to have start and end dates, like planning an event or building a new feature, while processes tend to be ongoing, like scheduling business operations or managing an editorial calendar. Our writing progress process is also a form of task tracking. On these boards, cards represent tasks that need to be completed, and lists often represent a series of steps. Lists can be as simple as "Inbox," "In Progress," and "Done," or as detailed as the process requires, with cards moving from left to right as they go from start to finish.

Useful functions:

Drag and Drop - Drag and drop cards between lists to show progress, and move cards up and down within a list to prioritize.

Due Dates - Add due dates to cards to stay on top of deadlines and mark due dates as completed when completed.

Add members - Assign tasks by adding members to a card, making it easy for everyone to see what others are working on.

Checklists - Break down tasks into their key components to ensure nothing is missed.

storage

Trellos itself does not have strong cloud disk properties, but it can also provide lightweight storage.

Useful functions

Attachments - Attach files from your computer or popular cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive with Power-Ups to organize your documents, files, and assets.

Markdown - Create clearer and more organized card descriptions with Markdown formatting tools. With Markdown, you can add headings, outline lists, italics, boldface, links, and more to your text.

Tags - Use tags to mark cards, then use filtering to quickly display all cards with the relevant tags. Use gray tags if you don't want tags to appear on regular card fronts but still want to be able to filter.

Search - Use Trello's powerful search feature to find any card you're looking for. Create as many cards as you want, and Trello will always be able to find them easily.

cooperation

One of Trello's hallmark features is how easy it is to coordinate and collaborate with others. You can see everything you need and access all your information in one place.

Collaboration often leads to great discussions around the work being done, constructive feedback, and (well-deserved) congratulations on a job well done. Here are some quick tips on how to keep the conversation going:

Comment on cards to provide your team with status updates. This way they know what's being worked on without having to bother you again.

@mentioning them in a comment sends them a notification that leads them directly to the task at hand. This is a great way to request input, share information, or pass a task to the next person in the workflow.

Mention everyone on a card or an entire board using @card and @board respectively. Be careful with your newfound @mention power!

Feeling... emotional? When emojis say more than words, click at the bottom of the comment box to add your voice.
