[eBay Newbies] What should I do if an eBay buyer fails to pay for the product after purchasing it?

What to do if the eBay buyer fails to pay after bidding on the product? If the buyer still hasn't paid after the seller sends the bill for several days. It is recommended that the seller actively contact the buyer to communicate directly to resolve the problem.

Sellers can send emails or messages through the eBay message box to remind buyers to pay, or they can communicate with buyers through the "No-bid Dispute Resolution Procedure" provided by eBay.

If the eBay buyer does not pay, we recommend that you take the following actions:

1. Contact Buyer Buyer

Sometimes we are unable to respond immediately due to emergencies, illness or computer failure. If the buyer does not reply to your email, we recommend that you check eBay for his contact information and then contact the buyer by phone.

2. Send payment reminder

Send a friendly payment reminder to the buyer between 3 and 30 days after the listing ends.

3. Submit a case to the Mediation Centre

If the buyer still does not respond, or you think there is no hope of receiving payment, you can file a bid abandonment case at the mediation center within 4 to 32 days after the listing ends. After the case is filed, the system will immediately notify the buyer and ask him to respond. If the buyer does not respond or pay within 4 days, or you cannot reach an agreement with the buyer, you can close the case and receive a refund of the transaction fee.

4. Sell the item again

You can sell the item to another bidder through the "Sell to Another Bidder" feature, or you can relist the item and potentially get a refund for your listing fee.

If a buyer does not pay for an item after bidding on it, the seller usually needs to file a bid-not-buy dispute within 4-32 days after the transaction date. However, in the following exceptions, the seller can file a dispute immediately:

1. Both the seller and the buyer wish to withdraw the transaction - the seller must submit an application for mutual withdrawal of the transaction, which can only be done after the buyer agrees;

2. The buyer is no longer a registered member of eBay when the dispute is filed - After the seller files a complaint, eBay verifies that the buyer is no longer a registered member, and you can immediately get a refund of the transaction fee
