A reader asked me, does it cost money to open a store on eBay? What are the fees for opening a store on eBay? Let's take a look at it with me! I hope it will be helpful to you! Does it cost money to open a store on eBay? When you plan to sell something on eBay, you need to pay the basic fees to the eBay website. I think this is the first thing everyone needs to understand. First, when you register an account, it is free. But when you start selling something, you have to pay fees to eBay, just like when we set up a stall in the market, we have to pay stall fees to the owner or manager of the market, but the stall fees in the market are generally paid on a "day" basis, with a fixed fee, which is very simple. The fees on eBay are charged on a per-order or per-item basis, which is much more detailed. There are two common transaction methods on eBay: auction and fixed price. No matter which method you use, the first thing you must pay is the "Insert Fee". As the name suggests, it is the cost of adding your product to the eBay market so that buyers can see your product. The Insert Fee varies depending on the price of the product. Please see the table below: Insertion fee list: Starting Price Insertion Fee £0.01 - £0.99 £0.10 £1.00 - £4.99 £0.15 £5.00 - £14.99 £0.25 £15.00 - £29.99 £0.50 £30.00 - £99.99 £1.00 £100.00 or more £1.30 Multiple items in one order with a total value of £100.00 or more £1.90 That is to say, if you want to sell a scarf for 10 pounds, if you choose to use the "fixed price" method, the insertion fee is 0.25 pounds; If you use an auction method and the starting price is £0.99, the insertion fee is £0.10. If the starting price is £4.99, the insertion fee is £0.15. If the item you put on the market doesn’t sell, eBay doesn’t charge you any more money. If it is sold, eBay will charge a "Final Value Fee" in proportion. Please see the table below: Final Value Fee List Final Selling Price/ Final Value Fee Not sold/ No charge £0.01 - £29.99 / 7.5% of the selling price £30.00 - £599.99 / The portion within the selling price of £29.99 is charged at a rate of 7.5% of £2.25, and the balance is charged at a rate of 4.5%, and then the two parts are added together £600.00 or more / 7.5% of the selling price within £29.99, £2.25, 4.5% of the selling price between £30.00 and £599.99 The balance is charged at a rate of 1.9%, and then the three parts are added together. That is to say, if your scarf is sold at a price of 0.99 pounds, you still need to pay eBay a final value fee of 0.08 pounds; If it is sold for £10, eBay will charge you a final value fee of £0.75; if it is sold for £50, it will charge you another £2.25+20.01x0.045=3.15.
