Amazon's climate-friendly commitments: Are you invited?

In September 2020, Amazon announced the launch of the Climate Pledge Friendly program to help consumers more easily discover and purchase sustainable products. The project is part of Amazon's commitment to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2040.

To implement the program, Amazon has selected several recognized sustainable certification projects as its partners. Products that have obtained these certifications can be marked with the "Climate Friendly Commitment" label when displayed on Amazon. The products cover many areas such as groceries, household, fashion, clothing, beauty and personal electronics.

Any of the following certification programs can apply for Amazon's Climate Friendly Commitment. Among them, GRS, RCS, GOTS, OCS, FSC, etc. are all relatively popular green certifications, and are also the most recognized certifications today. Currently, as long as the recycling rate of these certifications is greater than 50%, you can apply for Amazon's Climate Friendly Commitment. It should be noted that FSC certification needs to be the company's main product, not packaging items.

Since Amazon launched the "Climate Friendly Commitment Program", consumers can more easily find environmentally friendly products through this program. The project provides sellers with 31 badges to encourage sellers to sell environmentally friendly products. These badges can be added to eligible products, including responsible manufacturing, carbon neutrality, animal welfare, energy efficiency, compact design, etc.
