European Linen Supply Chain Management Implementation Rules

1. Objectives and scope of application

This procedure applies to the European Flax 2.0 European Flax Supply Chain Management Certification conducted by Bureau Veritas Certification (Beijing) Co., Ltd. in the People's Republic of China for business units that use flax fiber as raw material or engage in the production, processing, distribution and other related enterprises or institutions of flax-related products.

The certification objects include the following:

European Flax is a registered trademark owned by the European Flax Confederation (CELC) and its subsidiary CELC DEVELOPPEMENT. CELC is the international authority in flax certification and the only European agro-industrial organisation uniting all stages of flax production and transformation.

European Flax guarantees traceability of high-quality European flax fibers. It accounts for 85% of the world's flax fiber production and is a natural, sustainable fiber that is cultivated without artificial irrigation and is non-GMO.

Flax traceability chain description:

The linen standard aims to certify the European Flax chain of custody. From the fiber producer to the finished product, every link in the supply chain where the material is involved, including processing and trading, must be certified to ensure the traceability of the European Flax raw material. Products are only certified if they are produced or traded by a certified company, consist of 100% certified flax, and the final flax content of the product is ≥ 50%. Invoices that follow the characteristic requirements are key to prove the flow of certified raw materials in each link of the European Flax chain of custody.

For flax traders, flax processors, yarn, weaving, semi-finished products traders and product producers, the final product can be certified through a conformity assessment in accordance with the European Flax standards defined in this standard. After verification, a numbered certificate officially issued by European Flax will be issued to the enterprise.

3. Requirements for certification personnel

(1) Bureau Veritas has formulated the European Flax Supply Chain Management Certification Auditor Requirements based on the European Flax Certification Requirements. Bureau Veritas Asia Forestry Center is responsible for evaluating the certification auditors and approving their qualifications.

(2) Other personnel, such as application reviewers, audit plan schedulers, certification decision makers, etc., should be evaluated and confirmed to meet the competency requirements determined by Bureau Veritas.

4. Certification procedures and requirements

4.1 Acceptance of certification applications

4.1.1 Bureau Veritas must disclose at least the following information to the organization applying for certification (applicant organization) through its website or documents:

(1) Scope of certification business and the status of approval

(2) Bureau Veritas' system regulations for granting, maintaining, expanding, renewing, reducing, suspending or revoking certification and its certification and certificates

(3) Certification certificate format

(4) Appeal procedures for certification decisions

(5) Name, business scope, address, etc. of branches and offices

(2) Name and address of the certified organization

(3) Certification coverage

(4) Certification basis and version number

(5) Date of issuance and validity period of the certificate
