Brands/Retailers: If you purchase fabrics and outsource product manufacturing, that is, activities related to the final product, you must undergo a Bureau Veritas certification audit; if you purchase finished products, you do not require a Bureau Veritas certification audit. Summary: European hemp is the certification standard of France, and BV (Bureau Veritas) is appointed as the agent for audit and certification. The validity period of European hemp certification is 3 years. Samples need to be sent to France for testing every year for renewal. The samples are taken on-site by BV auditors. The annual testing fee is about 700 euros (Note: trading companies do not need to take samples for testing, and factories must take samples and send them to France for testing every year). The European hemp content requirement must reach more than 50%. Euroupean Flax is also called European Flax Certification, audited by BV. Euroupean Flax is a registered trademark owned by the European Flax Confederation (CELC) and its subsidiary CELC CELC DEVELOPPEMENT. CELC is the international authority in flax certification and a European agro-industrial organisation uniting all stages of flax production and transformation. Euroupean Flax guarantees the traceability of European flax fibres, which account for 85% of the world's flax production and is a natural, sustainable fibre grown without artificial irrigation and non-GMO. The Flax Standard is designed to certify the Euroupean Flax chain of custody. In other words, every link in the supply chain where the material is involved, from the fiber producer to the finished product, including processing and trading, must be certified to ensure the traceability of the Euroupean Flax raw material. Products are only certified if they are produced/traded by a certified company, consist of 100% certified flax, and the final flax content of the product is ≥50%. Invoices that follow specific requirements are key to prove the flow of certified raw materials in each link of the Euroupean Flax chain of custody. For flax traders, flax processors, yarn, weaving, semi-finished products traders and finished product producers, the final product can be certified by the conformity with the Euroupean Flax standard defined in this standard. After verification, a numbered certificate officially issued by the Bureau Veritas will be issued to the company. Are you still worried about not passing the factory inspection? Don’t worry!
