Detailed version of holiday and anniversary leave policy

The Decision of the State Council on Amending the National Holiday Regulations for Annual Festivals and Memorial Days is hereby promulgated and shall come into force on January 1, 2014.

The State Council's decision to amend the "National Holidays and Memorial Days Regulations"

The State Council has decided to make the following amendments to the National Holiday Regulations:
The second item of Article 2 is amended to read: "(2) Spring Festival, 3-day holiday (the first, second and third day of the first lunar month)".
This decision shall come into force on January 1, 2014.
The "National Holidays and Memorial Days Holidays Regulations" will be amended accordingly and republished in accordance with this decision.
National Holiday Regulations for Festivals and Anniversary Days (issued by the State Council on December 23, 1949, revised for the first time in accordance with the State Council's Decision on Amending the National Holiday Regulations for Festivals and Anniversary Days on September 18, 1999, revised for the second time in accordance with the State Council's Decision on Amending the National Holiday Regulations for Festivals and Anniversary Days on December 14, 2007, and revised for the third time in accordance with the State Council's Decision on Amending the National Holiday Regulations for Festivals and Anniversary Days on December 11, 2013)
Article 1 These Measures are formulated to unify the national holidays for festivals and anniversaries.
Article 2 Holidays on which all citizens shall have a holiday:
1. New Year: 1 day off (January 1);
(2) Spring Festival: 3 days off (the first, second and third day of the first lunar month);
(3) Qingming Festival: one day off (the day of Qingming Festival in the lunar calendar);
(4) Labor Day, one day off (May 1);
(5) Dragon Boat Festival: 1 day off (the day of the Dragon Boat Festival in the lunar calendar);
(Saturday) Mid-Autumn Festival: 1 day off (the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the lunar calendar);
(VII)National Day, 3-day holiday (October 1st, 2nd and 3rd).
Article 3 Holidays and anniversaries on which some citizens have holidays:
1. Women’s Day (March 8), women have a half-day holiday;
2. Youth Day (May 4): Young people aged 14 and above will have a half-day holiday.
(3) Children's Day (June 1st): Children under the age of 14 will have a day off;
4. On the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (August 1), active military personnel will have a half-day holiday.
Article 4 The local people's governments of the areas where ethnic minorities live in concentrated communities shall determine the dates of holidays for festivals celebrated by ethnic minorities in accordance with the customs of those ethnic groups.
Article 5 There will be no holidays on the February 7th Anniversary, the May 30th Anniversary, the July 7th Anniversary of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the September 3rd Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the September 18th Anniversary, Teachers' Day, Nurses' Day, Journalists' Day, Arbor Day and other holidays and anniversaries.
Article 6 If a holiday for all citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it shall be made up on a working day. If a holiday for some citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it shall not be made up on a working day.
Article 7 These Measures shall enter into force on the date of promulgation.
