At present, according to the national mandatory technical standards, the indicators for testing clothing mainly include pH value, formaldehyde content, azo dyes, color fastness, fiber content, translocation, etc. Some chemical agents are inevitably used in the processing and manufacturing of clothing. If they are not handled properly, when the content of these chemicals remaining on textiles exceeds a certain standard, they will cause harm to human health if they come into direct contact with the skin. Some of them have a long incubation period. We may be exposed to: PH value . The PH value is closely related to the fabric processing technology and quality control. The main reason for the unqualified PH value is that the fabric manufacturer uses a large amount of acidic and alkaline substances in the dyeing and finishing process, and does not adopt a reasonable neutralization treatment process, which causes the PH value of the product to exceed the standard. The normal PH value of human skin should be between 5.5 and 7.0, which is slightly acidic and can protect the human body from bacterial infection. If the PH value of clothing is too high or too low, it will directly destroy the balance mechanism of human skin and weaken the skin's ability to resist the invasion of bacteria. It may cause skin allergies, itching, redness and swelling, and even cause irritant dermatitis, contact dermatitis, etc. Formaldehyde content . When clothing fabrics are produced, formaldehyde is added to the additives to achieve wrinkle-proof, shrink-proof, flame-retardant effects, or to maintain the durability of printing and dyeing or to improve the feel. In particular, in order to save costs, some clothing manufacturers use finishing agents containing formaldehyde when producing iron-free clothing to make the fabric less prone to wrinkling. When the residual formaldehyde is not treated cleanly and made into clothing, it will cause harm to the human body. Formaldehyde will gradually be released during the wearing process, combining with human sweat or hydrolyzing to produce free formaldehyde, which will strongly irritate the respiratory mucosa, eyes and skin, causing dizziness, respiratory inflammation and skin inflammation, and severe cases will lead to blood diseases and even cancer. Azo dyes . Azo dyes are a common dye used in clothing dyeing processes. They can decompose into carcinogens under certain special conditions. Once the amount exceeds the limit, such clothing will be in long-term contact with the human body. If absorbed by the skin, it will spread in the human body, causing lesions and even cancer. The incubation period may be more than 20 years. Color fastness . Color fastness refers to the degree to which the color of dyed clothing remains fast. Clothing that does not meet the color fastness standard may not only stain other clothes when mixed with other clothes, but also the dyes are easily transferred from textiles to human skin, which can easily cause harm to human health. At the same time, when clothes are dyed or washed, the dyes and finishing agents that fall off due to poor color fastness will be discharged into rivers with wastewater, which will also have an adverse impact on the ecological environment. |
