Ezbuy was co-founded by He Jian and a group of ambitious partners in 2010. Its predecessor was called 65daigou. From the pinyin of ezbuy’s previous name, we can know that the platform is centered on purchasing services. Judging from the traffic data of its website, ezbuy’s purchasing services mainly focus on purchasing cost-effective products from Taobao to the Singapore market. However, it was precisely because the 65daigou platform's reliance on Taobao's purchasing business encountered a bottleneck that, although the platform was officially renamed ezbuy in 2016, which also meant that the platform was undergoing transformation, the risks still came. During the Double Eleven shopping festival in 2017, ezbuy was completely banned by Taobao. Hundreds of ezbuy's purchasing accounts on Taobao were blocked by Taobao, and the platform's transshipment warehouses were also banned, resulting in a heavy blow to the platform during last year's Double Eleven shopping festival. Advantages of Ezbuy Platform As for ezbuy, its biggest advantage over other platforms lies in logistics. After all, ezbuy started out as a purchasing agent, so it was inevitable for it to establish its own warehousing and logistics system. At the same time, Singapore's local logistics system is very difficult for foreign platforms like Taobao and JD.com to enter. For example, Taobao invested 249 million US dollars in Singapore Post in 2014, hoping to use the post to open up the Singapore logistics market. However, the Singapore Post's extremely low efficiency, coupled with Taobao's collection costs and complex operations, ultimately failed to successfully break through in Singapore. In 2011, ezbuy launched a one-stop shopping and delivery logistics solution. Although it did not become popular, in 2013, ezbuy launched the "Neighborhood Pickup" solution, which eventually developed into ezCollect in 2017, which places the goods in convenience stores or supermarkets around HDBs, similar to Cainiao in China. This method is based on Singapore's living style, where nearly 80% of people live in HDBs, which are similar to affordable housing. As of 2017, ezbuy has set up 277 delivery points and 50 pick-up service points in Singapore. It may not sound like much, but compared to the area of Singapore, this density is equivalent to the convenience stores that can be found everywhere in China.
