Founded in 2013, Meiou.com is a well-known media and service provider in the cross-border e-commerce industry. It has the East China Operation Center, South China Sales Center, Southwest and Central China after-sales support centers, and provides cross-border e-commerce industry information, international intellectual property rights, international taxation, industry angel investment and cross-border e-commerce asset transactions.

The cross-border e-commerce market is highly competitive. How does Meiou.com make its services one of the best in the industry? On July 24, 2019, Di Tiecheng, CEO of Meiou.com, was interviewed by Shenzhen Finance Channel.

"The cross-border e-commerce community is actually very small." Mr. Di told the author that the number of sellers is there. If you want to go far in the industry, the way of cutting leeks is to dig your own grave and you won't last long. Only by relying on service and reputation can you live long and well.

How small is this circle? Is it true that there are only 40,000 sellers?

It is said that at a gathering of several mainstream ERP giants in China, they combined their respective customer figures and calculated that there were only 40,000 cross-border e-commerce sellers in China.

They believe that cross-border e-commerce, the entire cross-border e-commerce industry, has only 40,000 sellers!

Mr. Di does not quite agree with this view. According to the results of a poll initiated by Meou.com, the ratio of sellers using ERP to those not using ERP is 1:4. Based on this data, the actual number of cross-border sellers is around 200,000.

"The development of the cross-border e-commerce industry is limited by region and industry categories, and is destined not to develop to the scale of domestic e-commerce, where there are only 500,000 to 600,000 e-commerce companies."

According to the research data of meou.com, Mr. Di said that there are about 700 sellers in the industry with annual sales exceeding 1,000 US dollars, of which about 450 are distribution sellers.

Why is this data so different from market expectations?

Mr. Di believes that in the past two years, 90% of the accounts were registered by old sellers, and the actual growth of sellers has already slowed down. The exaggerated propaganda of some service providers has also created a false prosperity in this industry.

"As the industry's growth stagnates and every service provider is competing for the existing market, service providers that do not pay attention to after-sales service and reputation will be eliminated first."

Mr. Di said that Meou.com insists on providing industry-leading services, using services as the driving force for sales and word of mouth as the only advertising channel. This is the winning formula that enables Meou.com to maintain a high growth rate of 200% despite the industry downturn.

In 2014, Meiou.com took the lead in launching the "Three Guarantees" policy for overseas trademarks, setting the trend for such services.

In 2016, Meiou.com took the lead in launching the UK tax audit and negotiation service.

In 2017, Meiou.com was the first to launch the "Three Guarantees" service for overseas patents, and no other industry peers have dared to follow suit since then.

In 2018, Meiou.com launched cross-border e-commerce financial and tax compliance services.
