Nearly 3,000 merchants in Huqiu Bridal City sell wedding dresses and wedding derivatives to more than 30 countries around the world through platforms such as Amazon and eBay, with an annual export value of about US$400 million. Suzhou takes advantage of being the location of the largest postal international mail exchange bureau in the province to provide professional cross-border e-commerce export full-service for small and medium-sized enterprises and vigorously develop cross-border e-commerce B2C exports.

At the same time, Suzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone focuses on promoting the deep integration of upstream and downstream related enterprises of cross-border e-commerce, such as procurement, production, payment, and logistics. According to Mr. Zhang, an individual business owner in Changshu Garment City, the foreign exchange received from personal export business is directly transferred to the merchant's personal foreign exchange savings account, but is subject to the annual limit of US$50,000 for personal foreign exchange settlement and sales. The excess amount can only be collected through direct relatives or through gray channels such as "scalpers" and underground banks. "The capital risk is relatively large, and a high handling fee must be paid at the same time," Mr. Zhang told reporters. "Now, merchants can open personal foreign exchange settlement accounts by registering on the online comprehensive service platform and passing the review. As long as our trade is real, it is not only not subject to the annual limit of US$50,000 for personal foreign exchange settlement and sales, but also the funds are safer and the handling fees of the middle links are saved."

At present, the online comprehensive service platform of Suzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone has been fully connected with the systems of customs, inspection, taxation, exchange and other departments, becoming the first fully electronic online comprehensive service platform in China and the only platform in China that can simultaneously connect with customs, national inspection and the People's Bank of China Jinhong data, realizing full support for bonded import B2B2C, direct mail import B2C, general export B2C and cross-border B2B export. The platform has also been successfully coordinated with the ASEAN "Single Window" platform, and export B2B business data can directly reach 10 ASEAN countries and India and other countries.

Based on the existing construction advantages, the Suzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone Online Comprehensive Service Platform is exploring the creation of a national special supervision area general taxpayer service platform, a national tax refund for overseas tourists, a cross-border e-commerce export one-stop platform, and other extended development positioning to expand commercial value-added services.
