Mattel factory inspection/factory consultation employment relations and freedom of association

Are all employees and contractors on site at least 16 years of age? (ZERO TOLERANCE)
If employees are between the ages of 16 and 18, does the factory prohibit them from working with hazardous materials, dangerous equipment, or extreme temperatures?

Are employees hired voluntarily?

Do not seize employees’ residence permits, employment permits, ID cards or other documents proving their personal identity
Can’t employ prisoners or debt-bonded workers? Can employees freely enter and leave the dormitory during non-working hours?
Curfews are permitted if there is a documented procedure, but employees may still be allowed into the dormitory after the curfew
Curfews are not allowed as a method of restricting employee activities. Is there a set of procedures for discrimination in the factory's recruitment, promotion, employee rights and disciplinary systems?
Recruitment policies, procedures or practices must apply to all employees hired, regardless of age, religion, gender, race or other characteristics.
Does the factory recognize the right of all employees to join or not join approved organizations or groups without unlawful interference?
Does the factory's top management have formal channels in place to encourage communication between managers and employees at all levels?
Factories must hold meetings between management and employees every six months and must not retaliate against employees who raise issues.
