eBay will adjust the payment method sellers can use bank card payment

On November 30, eBay sellers will soon be able to deduct money directly from their bank accounts and complete payments without using a PayPal account. From now until the end of 2022, the changes in eBay's payment methods will be gradually promoted to individual sellers.

It is reported that currently PayPal is the only option for eBay sellers to collect sales proceeds. After this adjustment in payment methods, sellers can complete payments directly through bank accounts, or continue to use PayPal and other payment methods.

For individual sellers, under the new payment system, eBay will charge 12.8% of the final price of the goods, including shipping costs, plus a 30 pence fee for each order, and sellers do not have to pay any fees to PayPal.

In addition, some sellers will avoid paying PayPal fees by accepting cash when receiving payments. But after the payment method adjustment, eBay will automatically charge higher fees even if sellers accept cash payments.

It is worth mentioning that eBay will launch payment management services in France, Italy and Spain in the first quarter of 2022 to provide buyers with flexible payment methods and options. In terms of specific payment applications, Apple Pay will become a payment option for iPhone and iPad users, and Google Pay can also be used on the eBay website and Android applications.
