GOTS management has decided to extend the validity period of the GOTS certificate!

Dear Chinese friends:

In this difficult period, we stand with the Chinese people in the fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia. We pay our highest respects to the medical workers and volunteers fighting on the front line of the fight against the epidemic, and we also send our greetings to the workers in the textile industry who are gradually returning to work despite many difficulties.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Management has decided to make the following decisions and recommendations for planned audits in China and for the upcoming expiration of Certificates of Conformity (SC) of certified Chinese entities.

For Chinese certified entities whose certificates of conformity are about to expire (or have expired in 2020), the validity period will be extended by 3 months. GOTS further recommends that certification bodies replace on-site audits and visits with remote audits. GOTS will re-evaluate this situation in April 2020 to decide whether the extension and recommendation are necessary to continue.

GOTS will continue to cooperate with China to promote organic textile standards and overcome the difficulties together.
