The latest Wal-Mart factory inspection standards in 2012

The latest Wal-Mart factory inspection standards in 2012 have been revised compared to previous versions. Some of the standards have been implemented, so if you want to inspect Wal-Mart factories, you must understand the relevant content in a timely manner, make guidance and adjustments. The following is an introduction to the latest Wal-Mart factory inspection standards in 2012.

The latest Wal-Mart factory inspection standards in 2012:

1. Revise the red light-freeze policy:

From May 1, 2012, 3 orange ratings within 2 years from the last audit date = red - one year freeze.

Since January 2012, the follow-up audit period for Orange Light has been changed from 120 days to 180 days to allow more time for factory improvement and remediation, making supplier development efforts more effective. In view of this extension, the Red Light-Rejection Process for GP and Non-GP Procurement Suppliers has also been revised. Previously, 4 Orange Lights in 2 years = Red-Freeze for one year.

1. Factories with 2 orange lights: There have been 2 orange lights in the past two years. If another orange light is added, it will be equivalent to waiting for a red light which will cause them to be frozen.

2. When a factory receives the result of the 2nd Orange Assessment, future orders cannot be guaranteed. It depends on Wal-Mart.

3. After the second orange light follow-up audit, the factory will have 6 months to replace the factory. During this 6-month period, the factory can continue to produce and ship. After the 6-month validity period, the factory will be changed to a "frozen" status.

4. The reuse of the second orange light factory must obtain the approval of the corresponding procurement before it can be changed to the "normal" status.

5. Factories that have received 3 orange lights in the past 2 years and whose last audit date was May 1, 2012 will still be able to receive orders. For this small number of factories, we will only allow more than one audit to see if the factory can prove that it has improved.

Note: Due to seasonal factors and the nature of the business, the above policy does not apply to food and packaging manufacturers.

2. New Factory Policy

From May 1, 2012: All global sourcing (direct import) type "new" factories and "A-type" suppliers must obtain a yellow or green audit assessment before they can receive orders.

1. Any frozen factory that previously had a green or yellow light (and has not expired) will not need to undergo an "activation" audit.

2. All expired and frozen orange-light factories will need a factory audit (prequalified audit-type "A" suppliers) and must obtain a yellow or green audit assessment before orders can be placed.

3. From October 1, 2009: All global sourcing (direct import) type "new" factories and "B" and "C" suppliers must obtain yellow or green audit assessments before they can receive orders. Recommended information: >>> Three reasons why Walmart factory inspections may only give orange lights
