1. Introduction to Shopee’s seven major sites 1. Taiwan and Malaysia are the first choice for Shopee. They are also the most mature, most profitable and easiest to place orders. Taiwan has the highest average order value, fast delivery time (about 5 days), and can communicate directly in Chinese. The purchasing power of the Malaysian people is also good, delivery time is about 7-10 days, and communication is mainly in English. However, it should be noted that because these two sites are the preferred sites, they are also the sites with the largest and most concentrated number of Chinese sellers, and the price war is very fierce. 2. Indonesia and Thailand are currently Shopee's fastest growing markets and will be the first and second largest markets for Southeast Asian e-commerce in the future. The disadvantage is that these two countries are small language countries and cannot communicate directly in English. Although Shopee officially provides customer service and hot-selling product translation services, the efficiency is currently relatively slow. 3. The Philippines and Vietnam are the second and third most populous countries in Southeast Asia, and their market potential is huge. The Philippines site is relatively complete, it is not difficult to place orders, and you can communicate directly in English. The Vietnam site is a minority language site and cannot be in English, but the Vietnam site has the highest conversion rate. 4. Singapore. There are many Chinese people in Singapore, and they can speak Chinese and English. The e-commerce construction is also the best in Southeast Asia, and the logistics timeliness is also relatively fast. Unfortunately, the market is relatively small. 2. Why is it so important to become a preferred seller? There are two types of Shopee sellers: Ordinary sellers and preferred sellers. This can be understood as the unreliable stores vs. crown stores on Taobao in the past. Although we may rarely look at the reputation on Taobao now, in the past, when we shopped, we generally would not buy from stores with low reputation, such as top-level stores or those without reputation. The current e-commerce environment in Southeast Asia is like Taobao a few years ago. Buyers will also look at this before shopping. The conversion rate of Prefered Seller stores is significantly higher than that of ordinary stores. Preferred sellers have two permissions: First, buyers can use Shopee coins to get cash back, which is similar to Taobao's gold coins and can only be used in selected stores; Second, for some special sales activities, only preferred sellers are eligible to sign up. So sometimes, even if you are cheaper than others, but they are preferred and can be used as a cash discount, the buyer may choose them. The evaluation criteria for preferred sellers are also very simple. This is a standard that is not fixed. There will be slight differences in each specific site. For example, a store rating of 4.6 is sufficient, and the response rate does not need to be greater than 80%. For specific indicators of each site, you can ask the corresponding manager. Or you can check it on the App's weekly performance. 3. What basic work do we need to do to become a preferred seller? 1) Make a profit first. Don’t set a goal on how much money you can make from each order at the beginning, but quickly achieve 50 orders and strive to become a preferred seller next month. To this end, don’t even think about making a profit, even if you make a small loss, you must place an order. For the sake of long-term profits, it is necessary to sacrifice the immediate short-term profits first. 2) Follow fans and get more boosts. Shopee stores have a fan following method, just like we follow public accounts and Weibo, we will see what the other party updates. On the other hand, guiding buyers to follow our store is a means to gain more exposure. The more people pay attention, the greater the exposure of your new products every time. There is a trick I can share here. When chatting with buyers, give them small gifts or discounts to guide them to follow your store and give them likes. Liking products will also increase rankings. Boost is a free promotion tool of Shopee, which can boost 5 products at a time, once every 4 hours. The boosted products will be ranked at the top of the category search results during that time period. Many people ignore and underestimate this function, but in fact its role cannot be underestimated (note that Boost can only be used for new products, Boost for products with sales will affect the ranking and is not recommended). 3) Collect good reviews. Shopee has a system of good and bad reviews similar to Taobao. A low review will also affect the selection of preferred stores, so you must provide good service and maintain good reviews. The points deducted by a bad review require dozens of good reviews to make up for it. 4) Report multiple activities. New stores have new store activities, and non-new stores have activities that can be signed up for basically every month. Participating in activities is also a very valuable opportunity to gain huge exposure. You must participate more often and select a few "traffic-driving" products to register for the activities each time. Traffic diversion means making as much profit as possible, because setting up too expensive products may result in registration failure. 5) Understand the good environment. The environment here refers to the environment of Southeast Asian countries, such as climate, population, religion and people's preferences. Some friends do not understand the environment clearly and will randomly select products. Let me give you a strange example around me, selling down jackets. Southeast Asia is a tropical climate country with an average temperature of more than 20°. Selling down jackets in such a place is a death wish. However, even though the temperature is high all year round, it does not mean that long-sleeved clothes cannot be sold. Many people in Southeast Asia believe in the Muslim faith, and women cannot wear overly revealing clothes, so some long-sleeved clothes, swimsuits, or Muslim clothing will still sell well. Therefore, product selection is very important. Sometimes, if the product does not sell well, it is because you have chosen the wrong product. 6) Add more new products. In the current e-commerce environment in Southeast Asia, the distribution model is still more popular, and the Shopee platform is expected to release more new products. As long as more are released, there will be more traffic support. If there are not many SKUs, you can release new products in small quantities and multiple times. Distribution does not necessarily require N multiple categories, making it look like a grocery store at first glance. In fact, there are quite a few products in one or two categories as long as you dig deep. 7) Labels. #+keyword format. Shopee's titles have a word limit, and often our descriptions will exceed the limit, so tags are crucial. Adding relevant popular tags to products will bring in traffic, which is equivalent to the expansion of the title. Popular tags will be shared by managers every week and can be found in the search box. If you want to get more orders every day, there is no secret, but there are a lot of basic work. If you do these basic work well, the number of orders will gradually accumulate and increase. If you don't do the basic work well, even if you are faking orders, getting good reviews, giving discounts, and participating in activities, you may end up with half the result with twice the effort. |
