Duplicate listings are a mistake that many novice eBay sellers make. Today I will explain to you in detail eBay’s duplicate listings policy.

eBay basic listing format

eBay has three basic listing formats and one special listing format for auto parts products:

1. Fixed Price Listing

2. Auction-style Listing

3. Auction-style listing with the Buy It Now option

4. Parts Compatibility Listing (applicable to auto parts products)

Duplicate listing penalties

1. The listing was removed by eBay

2. The listing does not appear in eBay search results

3. The account's trading privileges are terminated

4. Account search ranking decreases, and exposure decreases

So eBay sellers, please be careful not to make the mistake of listing products twice, otherwise the consequences will be very serious!

1. Whether the items for sale listed are obviously different from other listings and whether they meet the different needs of buyers.

2. Whether similar but not identical items are clearly indicated in terms of main and sub-titles, prices, pictures, conditions, attributes, applicability, etc.

Items that do not meet the above two criteria will be considered the same.

The following situations will be considered as duplicate listings:

1. Multiple Pricing Listings

2. Fixed price listing/auction listing + auction listing with "fixed price" option online at the same time

3. The same items are listed in different categories

You can select two categories for one listing, but you cannot have two listings in two categories online at the same time.

4. The same seller uses different accounts to list repeatedly

5. Multiple auctions of the same item differ in any of the title, description, starting price, reserve price, or end time

The following situations will not be considered as duplicate listings:

1. Multiple auction listings + one fixed price listing

Conditions: Duplicate auction listings must not offer a "Buy Now" option, and the starting price, reserve price, title, and item description must be the same, otherwise it will be considered a violation.

Note: The system will only display one unbid auction listing at a time. Once that listing receives a bid or ends, the next listing will automatically begin to display. All auction listings of this type (whether displayed or not) are charged the normal fee.

2. Repeated posting on different sites

Condition: The delivery ranges listed for each listing must not overlap.

Example: Item A is listed on the US site and the delivery range is the US; it is also listed on the UK site and the delivery range is the UK√

Item B is listed on the US site, with a delivery range of worldwide; it is also listed on the UK site, with a delivery range of UK×

3. Different quantities of "wholesale" listings

Conditions: The wholesale quantity of each listing varies significantly to meet the different needs of buyers

What if some items are specifically for different products, models or brands? In fact, eBay has a special solution for such items!

US and Australia sites: up to 5 fixed-price listings

UK site: 15 auction listings + a total of 15 fixed price listings/auction listings with the "Buy Now" option (fixed price listings/auction listings with the "Buy Now" option can be combined at will)

Germany site: Multiple auction listings + 1 auction listing with a "Buy Now" option + up to 15 fixed price listings

Notice:

1. General products cannot be listed repeatedly (for example, AA batteries)

2. Clearly indicate in the title which products, brands, models, etc. are applicable, and the models applicable to each published item must not be repeated.

eBay Duplicate Listings General Guidelines

For the same item from the same seller, buyers can see at most one fixed-price listing and one auction listing at the same time.

Tips:

1. If you have multiple items in stock, please list them as multi-quantity fixed price listings;

2. If the same item has different colors and sizes, please list it as a multi-variation fixed price listing.

However, auto parts categories have different requirements. For auto parts products, the same accessory can have 5 parts compatibility listings online at the same time.

1. The parts compatibility list on the item details page must show the car model that the accessory is suitable for.

2. A new listing for the same accessory can only be created after the first listing's parts compatibility list has been filled with 1,000 (UK, Germany sites: 3,000) applicable car models.

Example: A certain auto parts product is suitable for 14,252 different models:

First listing shows 1-3000 applicable models

The second listing shows 3001-6000 applicable models

The third listing shows 6001-9000 applicable models

The fourth listing shows 9001-12000 applicable models

The fifth listing shows 12001-14252 applicable models

3. If an auto parts item is only applicable to 1,000 or fewer different car models, two parts compatibility listings may not be created for the item.
